21 TN police officers to receive Presidential Awards

CHENNAI: The Central government has announced that 21 police officers from Tamil Nadu, including Superintendent of Police (SP) Jayalakshmi to be honored with the Presidential Awards for their service to the police force.

Among the awardees are notable officers such as Superintendents of Police Jayalakshmi and Stalin, Additional Superintendents of Police Dinakaran and Prabhakaran, Joint Superintendent of Police Mathiyazhagan, Additional Commissioner Veerapandi, and Joint Superintendent of Police Babu.

In total, 746 awards and medals were announced for police personnel from various states.

Tamil Nadu, in particular, has seen strong representation, with two police inspectors, Duraikumar and Radhika, being named the best officers in the Tamil Nadu Police Force.

Every year, the Presidential Awards are presented to officers from the police and fire departments for their contributions.
