2 injured in Sivakasi blast die

The deceased have been identified as I Thirupathi (29) of North Street, Gopalanpatti, Sivakasi taluk and K Nagaraj (17) of M Pudupatti village, sources said.

MADURAI: Two persons, who suffered critical burns after an explosion, at Poosaridevanpatti in Sivakasi, Virudhunagar, succumbed to injuries in hospital on Sunday night. The deceased have been identified as I Thirupathi (29) of North Street, Gopalanpatti, Sivakasi taluk and K Nagaraj (17) of M Pudupatti village, sources said. After enquiring, the SFO said those victims were engaged in filling chemicals for making fireworks illegally at a shed.
