CHENNAI: On the occasion of the 151st birth anniversary of freedom fighter VO Chidambaram Pillai, Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin paid floral tributes to his portrait at Chennai Port on Monday.

Stalin took to his Twitter and tweeted, "On his birthday, let's celebrate the sacrifice of 'Chekichla Semmal' V.U.Chidambaranar, who is the epitome of sacrifice and is the epitome of the Swadeshi movement! Let's follow his path with self-reliance and self-reliance in mind!." (sic)

Tamil Nadu Ministers, MPs, MLAs, representatives of local bodies, senior government officials, and important dignitaries also participated.
