TIRUCHY: The 12th World Tamil Conference has been scheduled to be organised in Tiruchy as per the policy decision, the Tamil Development Director has assured it in an RTI query.
According to Dr MA Aleem, a noted neurologist and social activist, he had sought an RTI query about the 12th World Tamil Conference venue. He has earlier sent a series of representations to the government to organise the conference in Tiruchy for its proximity. He also had explained in detail about the facilities and other factors favouring the conference in Tiruchy.
In August, Aleem has sought a query with the Tamil Development Department about the status of the venue for the conference and the director had responded to him stating that the 12th World Tamil conference is to be held in Tiruchy. “It is a policy decision of the state government to hold the conference in Tiruchy,” the director noted.
“Tiruchy would be ideal place to conduct such world event as there is good connectivity of airways, roadway and railways. Moreover, anyone can reach Tiruchy within 5 hours drive from any part of Tamil Nadu and we are happy to receive such a positive response from the Tamil Development Director,” said Dr Aleem.
