12 councillors submit resignations in Tirupattur on grievances day

The move was subsequent to their handing over a 14-page petition to the DRDA project director Selvaraj on the misappropriation of funds by panchayat president Ramani Rajasekar on September 29.

TIRUPATTUR: Kailasagiri village panchayat’s 12 ward councillors, including its vice president, submitted their resignations to Collector Amar Kuswaha at the Collectorate in Tirupattur on Monday.

The move was subsequent to their handing over a 14-page petition to the DRDA project director Selvaraj on the misappropriation of funds by panchayat president Ramani Rajasekar on September 29. The project direction had promised an enquiry and immediate action at the earliest. However, as no action had been initiated till date, the councillors, including panchayat vice president Aravindan, came to the Collectorate and submitted the petition to Kuswaha.

The Collector promised action based on a proper enquiry after which they left.
