104 helpline flooded with over 4000 calls from students after SSLC results announced

The helpline would usually receive around 1,500 calls a day, but on Friday there was surge in the callers.

On the day, when SSLC results were published, the 104- helpline received nearly 4,000 calls.

The helpline would usually receive around 1,500 calls a day, but on Friday there was surge in the callers. 

According to the officials, the helpline, operated by the Tamil Nadu Health System Project (TNHSP), state Health Department and GVK-EMRI 108 ambulance management, would be functioning round-the-clock. 

B Prabudoss, Head, Tamil Nadu Marketing and Communication, GVK-EMRI, said, “Considering the results, we increased the number of staff particularly psychologists.

The helpline received 4,000 calls till 5 pm on Friday and the volume of calls are expected to touch up to 6,000 till 12 am.” Even the students, who scored high marks rang up the helpline.  We counselled them and their parents, he added.
