CHENNAI: Indian all-rounder Washington Sundar is expected to resume bowling in the next couple of days as he continues his recovery from an injury sustained earlier this month, according to a Maalaimalar report.

The all-rounder was injured during the first one day international against New Zealand on the January 11, which forced him to miss the remainder of the ODI series and the subsequent T20 matches.

The 26-year-old has been included in India’s squad for the upcoming ICC T20 World Cup, scheduled to begin on the February 7. His fitness status had raised concerns, with the possibility of a replacement being considered if he failed to regain full fitness ahead of the tournament.

If Sundar successfully demonstrates full fitness, he is expected to rejoin the Indian team shortly.
