Tamil Nadu eyes a hat-trick of Mushtaq Ali titles

CHENNAI: Double defending champion Tamil Nadu will be eager to make it a hat-trick of titles in the Syed Mushtaq Ali T20 Trophy, which will begin on Tuesday at various centres. The Baba Aparajith-led Tamil Nadu has been placed in Elite Group E along with Bengal, Jharkhand, Chhattisgarh, Chandigarh, Odisha and Sikkim. Tamil Nadu, which has won the competition thrice, will play all its first-round matches in Lucknow. On Tuesday, the southern state side will begin its title defence with a clash against Chhattisgarh at the Ekana Cricket Stadium. Meanwhile, the Mushtaq Ali Trophy will see the introduction of ‘Impact Player’ (bringing on a substitute during a match).
