CHENNAI: A superb spell of seven for 13 from medium pacer A Vihan Ashley guided Chengalpattu to a thumping 101-run win over Ranipet in Group B of the Tagore-Thiruvallur DCA U-12 tournament.

Set to chase 159 in 40 overs, Ranipet was dismissed for 57. In another match, Thiruvallur defeated Vellore by 9 wickets.

GROUP A: Vellore 91/9 in 40 overs (S Mithun 31 no, Shathvik Jose 2/10, G Yuthistra 2/14) lost to Thiruvallur 92/1 in 16.4 overs (S Isac 48*)

GROUP B: Chengalpattu 158/9 in 40 overs (V Harshith 25, PG Kavin Sai 31, Mukunthdharam 2/28, K Havish 2/22) bt Ranipet 57 in 18 overs (A Vihan Ashley 7/13)
