SRM finishes first in South Zone

SRM Institute of Science and Technology (SRM IST) emerged victorious in the South Zone Inter-University Volleyball Tournament for Women, which was conducted at SRM IST, Kattankulathur, recently.

SRM IST won all its three fixtures to finish top of the pile. MG University was runner-up, while Hindustan IST and Mysore University took the third and fourth spots respectively. The above-mentioned teams have qualified for the All-India Inter-University Volleyball Championship for Women that is slated to be held at the Kurukshestra University in Haryana from December 16 to 20.

Results: SRM IST beat Hindustan IST 25-14, 25-17, 25-19;

MG University beat Mysore University 25-15, 25-20, 25-10;

SRMIST beat Mysore University 25-23, 25-13, 24-26, 25-14;

MG University beat Hindustan IST 25-17, 25-23, 25-21;

Hindustan IST beat Mysore University 21-25, 25-15, 19-25, 25-20, 15-13;

SRMIST beat MG University 25-20, 25-20, 25-21.
