Santhosh, Sarath star in Bunts’ win

AS Santhosh (106) and C Sarath Kumar (5/53) produced game-changing contributions as Bunts Cricket Club defeated Triplicane Cricket Club by 33 runs in a TNCA Third Division ‘B’ match here.

Batting first, Bunts made 288 for seven in its stipulated overs, thanks to a century from Santhosh. In reply, Triplicane could only muster 255 for nine, largely due to the good bowling effort of leg-spinner Sarath, who bagged a five-wicket haul. In a Fourth Division ‘A’ contest, right-arm medium pacer S Taarakesh (7/40) scalped seven wickets to guide Madras United Club to a 25-run success over Gandhi Nagar Starlets Cricket Club.


In another game, I Prakash (5/44) picked up a five-wicket haul as Social Cricket Club got the better of Prithvi Cricket Club by five wickets.

State Bank of India RC 187 for 9 in 50 overs (M Anand 59, V Sanjeev Kumar 43, R Ashwin 3/44) lost to Mylapore RC ‘B’ 190 for 3 in 37.1 overs (AB Dhiyash 96, R Prabhu Dhev 70);


Prithvi CC 124 all-out in 32.2 overs (I Prakash 5/44) lost to Social CC 127 for 5 in 45.1 overs (T Madhu Aravind 38*, K Aditya Vikram 34);


Madras United Club 208 all-out in 45.3 overs (I Vetrivel 56, R Karthick Krishna 54, S Santhosh Kumar 4/44, B Arun Kumar 3/48) beat Gandhi Nagar Starlets CC 183 all-out in 48 overs (K Raja Pratap 38, R Nithish Kumar 31, R Jashwanth Shreeram 31, S Taarakesh 7/40).
