Merchants and Bankers Golf tournament set for tee off

CHENNAI: The 19th edition of the prestigious Merchants and Bankers Golf Tournament is set to take place at the Cosmo TNGF Golf Course on Friday, January 30.

To be played in the Stableford format, the tournament is a test of both skill and mental fortitude, adding to the appeal of the sport.

Hosted by the Rotary Club of Madras (RCM), itself a couple of years shy of marking its hundred years presence in the city, the invitational tournament has attracted entries from over 25 top notch corporate entities, as well from business leaders, industrialists and others invested in the development of society on all fronts, said Sriya Chari, Golf Chair, RCM.

RCM, the third oldest Rotary Club in India, after Kolkata and Mumbai, will host the sponsors dinner at Pulman Hotel on January 29, while the prize distribution and lunch will be held at TNGF, after the tournament.

The surplus from the annual flagship tournament will go directly towards raising awareness on (challenges from the ever-changing) environment, cancer prevention and poverty alleviation, in line with RCM’s objective of a equitable society for all.
