As many as 22 companies have picked up the tender document worth Rs 10 lakh, but there could be only five or six serious bidders as the base price has been set at Rs 2,000 crore.

The Adani Group, owned by Gautam Adani who is one of India’s richest business tycoons, is expected to bid for the Ahmedabad franchise.

Similarly, the RPSG Group, which is headlined by Sanjiv Goenka, is also considered to be a serious bidder. Lucknow, Indore, Guwahati, Cuttack, Dharamsala and Pune are the other cities which are being considered for the franchises’ home bases.
