CHENNAI: Medium pacer Abhishek Tanwar (6/36) picked up a match-winning six-wicket haul as Grand Slam CC defeated Sea Hawks CC by 17 runs in the VAP Trophy Group A match at the Murugappa Ground here on Tuesday.
In another Group A game at the IIT-M Chemplast Ground, medium pacer P Saravana Kumar (5/29) and skipper Kaushik Gandhi (101 not out off 71 balls, 16 fours) starred for Jolly Rovers CC, which got the better of Madras CC by 10 wickets. Meanwhile, K Vishal Vaidhya’s (100 off 94 balls, 11 fours, 2 sixes) century went in vain as UFCC (T Nagar) suffered a 14-run defeat at the hands of Swaraj CC.
