“Consistency is what made CSK a force to reckon with in the IPL,” said Lakshmi Narayanan. “It was also MS Dhoni’s inspiring leadership, his unique man-management skills that brought the best out of the team with absolutely no pressure on any of the individuals,” added Lakshmi, who has been with CSK since the inaugural season in 2008. CSK won the title twice, finished runner-up on four occasions and qualified to the ‘Play-offs’ in all eight seasons between 2008 and 2015 to emerge as one of the most decorated sides in the opening decade of the competition.

“The ‘Lions’ have set a high benchmark in the IPL and I’m confident we will rekindle the magic,” he continued. A performance analyst plays a key role in a team’s success in modern-day cricket, especially in Twenty20 where real-time data often determines victory.

“We are blessed with a supportive management who understand the game. The coaches, support staff and our fans have been wonderful and have been a source of strength to the team,” Lakshmi further stated. Excellent with numbers, Lakshmi has also worked with India A and India U-19 teams, including the 2008 Junior World Cup-winning side in Malaysia led by Virat Kohli.

“The beauty of CSK is that it is together as a team, be it success or defeats. Not just the team, also our fans. We have got the best fans and they have been with us throughout our journey,” he concluded.

“Lakshmi shares a very good working relationship with the coaching staff and senior members of the team that has been built over the years,” said KS Viswanathan, CEO, CSK.
