Chennai Junior Football League, featuring 6 teams, from today

White Spartans and Evergreen FC clinched the boys and girls title respectively in the Chennai Kaalpandhu League, which concluded on Saturday at the YMCA College of Physical Education in Chennai. While White Spartans defeated Team Red in the boys final, Evergreen FC got the better of Kids FC in the girls summit clash.

CHENNAI: The inaugural edition of the Chennai Junior Football League will be held at the Hindustan University in Padur from October 16 (Sunday) to the first week of November. The league that will see six teams participating – Aazura FC, Chennaiyin FC, FC Madras, Great Goals, Mahogany FC and SPFA – was launched here on Saturday. The tournament will be hosted for two categories – Under-13 and Under-15. Hindustan University and Leo Coffee will be the lead sponsors for the league while COSCO will be the ball sponsor.
