Billiards and Snooker Tournament: Manasvini impresses with five medals

Vidya Mandir student S Manasvini clinched three silver and two bronze medals in the recently concluded State Ranking Billiards and Snooker Tournament here.

Manasvini was second-best in sub-junior, junior and ladies billiards, while she finished third in sub-junior and junior snooker. Courtesy her good showing, Manasvini earned a spot in the Tamil Nadu squad alongside Anupama, Mariam, Mohitha and Safilo Sara Benny for the upcoming National Ranking events, which are to be announced in due course.


The local lass trainsat the QBG Lounge and Mylapore Club and is being coached by WPBSA coach N Suryanarayanan.


“Manasvini has demonstrated her potential and has the perseverance to perform at the highest level,” said Suryanarayanan.


Tamil Nadu Billiards and Snooker Association President Soumini Srinivas said, “Manasvini made a wonderful 46 break in the final and I witnessed it. She slackened later and had to settlefor silver.”
