CHENNAI: After the discrepancies in the two nominations submitted by TVK leader C Joseph Vijay triggered panic in the party ranks and discussion about the procedural matters in such cases, the Election Commission of India clarified that mistakes could be corrected within the nomination deadline.

As per the Election Commission poll schedule, the last date for filing nominations is April 6.

According to officials, mistakes in the submitted documents could be corrected within this period.

Vijay failed to declare the 2025 case pending against him in the Perambur affidavit and his age given in the affidavit for the second constituency, Tiruchy East, is different from the other one.
