COIMBATORE: A 64-year-old DMK functionary died of suspected cardiac arrest at the campaign rally of Chief Minister MK Stalin in Erode on Thursday (April 2).
The deceased, identified by police as Ravichandran from Veerapanchatram in Erode, had arrived at the venue near Thindal.
“Around 9am, he was walking towards the front area of the ground, when he suddenly collapsed,” police said.
The party members immediately rushed him by an ambulance to the Erode Government Hospital, however he died on the way. The police have registered a case and further inquiries are underway.
