The Union Budget for 2020-21 will be presented on February 1, a Saturday notwithstanding the day being a holiday, government said on Friday. “As of now, the tradition will continue,” Parliamentary Affairs Minister Pralhad Joshi told reporters at the customary end-of-the session press conference. He was replying to a question whether the Union Budget would be presented on Feb 1, a holiday. In its first term, the Modi Government decided to prepone the date from the last working day to the first working day. Accordingly, the Union Budget for 2017-18 was presented on February 1, and since then, tradition has continued.
