CHENNAI: State BJP president K Annamalai called Tamil Nadu as “haven” for terrorist and said the intital probe of Mangaluru bomb blast revealed that the terrorist H M Shariq assumed a fake identity and stayed in Coimbatore.

Shariq’s Coimbatore stay raises serious doubts about his connection to Tamil Nadu terror modules operating with impunity, said Annamalai in his social media post on Monday.

Continuing his assault on the Tamil Nadu government and the state intelligence wing, the BJP leader said, “Since DMK came to power, the state intelligence is under deep hibernation and TN is becoming a haven for terrorist.”

He further said that the party has emphasised from day one that the Coimbatore car boom blast is an “act of terror” while the Tamil Nadu government continues to be in a state of denial.

He also criticised the DMK government in connection with the arrest of right wing commentator Kishore K Swamy. He has been arrested for his alleged derogatory remarks against Chief Minister MK Stalin. He has been picked from Puducherry after his anticipatory bail was denied by a city court. Annamalai assured Sway’s family that the party would extend necessary legal aid to him.
