SC to hear TN's writ petition against NEET exam today

Tamil Nadu government's writ petition against the NEET exam will be heard in the Supreme Court today.

NEW DELHI: The State government filed a writ petition in the Supreme Court in 2020 against the amendment that made the NEET examination mandatory. After making some corrections this petition has been filed again in the Apex Court.

In that petition, the TN government has listed statistics on the hardships rural students face getting admission to medical courses due to this amendment. The writ petition was recently heard by the Supreme Court bench of Justice Sudhanshu Dhulia. During the hearing, the bench ordered that the writ petition should be heard considering the assertions of the Tamil Nadu government in the petition.

As a result, the Tamil Nadu government's writ petition against the NEET examination would be heard in the Supreme Court today.
