CHENNAI: The Directorate of Public Health and Preventive Medicine revises travel guidelines for international travellers to India, as per the Union Health Ministry instructions.
It is mandatorily required to take pre-departure RT-PCR, which is to be conducted within 72 hours prior to undertaking the journey and this applies for passengers in all International Flights from China, Singapore, Hong Kong, Republic of Korea, Thailand and Japan. This arrangement shall come into practice with effect from 10 am on 1st January, 2023.
Accordingly, the Ministry of Civil Aviation's Air Suvidha Portal will be made operational for passengers in all international flights from these countries, with a provision to allow these international travellers arriving in India to submit/upload negative RT-PCR test reports as well as to submit self-declaration form on this portal.
The existing practice of post-arrival random testing of 2 percent travellers, irrespective of port of departure, shall continue.
