Rains delay local trains in Mumbai

The Central Railway is managing to run trains as senior officers at the site are monitoring the rains for any exigencies.

With heavy downpour in Central Railway Mumbai Division and  Mumbai suburbs , local trains are running late , official sources said.

Mumbai suburbs recorded rainfall of nearly 93 mm in a single day and cumulative rain of 515 mm.

The rainfall so far recorded at Thane was 148 mm; Kalyan 127 mm; Bhiwandi 215 mm; Panvel 166 mm.

The Central Railway is managing to run trains as senior officers at the site are monitoring the rains for any exigencies.

The situation is also being closely monitored by Senior officers from Headquarters. Suburban trains are being delayed due to heavy rains and low visibility.

In the ongoing Maharashtra assembly session ,most of the members reached vidhan bhavan by local trains owing to water logging at several places in the city.
