Jamsher was arrested following a search based on the visuals of the incident that had occurred on October 18 afternoon, the police said.
Footage from the CCTV camera, installed at a private residence in the area, showed a man accosting the young woman and assaulting her in the narrow lane.
The man, a short while later, was seen running away from the scene followed by his victim.
Taking note that the video was being shared on social media sites since yesterday, the police registered a case and after investigations arrested Jamsher.
He has been booked for assault or criminal force to woman with intent to outrage her modesty under the Indian Penal Code, the police said.
The woman has been identified and sent for medical examination, they said.
