Hit by bricks during storm, Bengaluru techie dies

A 21-year-old TCS techie died an unnatural death when she was hit on the head by a volley of bricks and construction material that were blown by the gale during a severe storm that caused heavy rain in the city, an official said on Wednesday.

"Shilpa, 21, died on Tuesday evening when heavy gusts of wind blew bricks and construction material that hit her on the head," confirmed a police official to IANS.

Police booked a case taking her accidental death into account.

Shilpa studied BSc and was employed with TCS. Her father is an autorickshaw driver and mother a homemaker.

She is also survived by a younger brother, Dhanush, 13.

The Chitradurga native was living with her parents in a rented accommodation at Nandini Layout in the city.

The Met Department forecast a generally cloudy sky with possibility of thundershowers in the city until June 2.
