CHENNAI: The India Space Research Organisation (ISRO) launched atop the PSLV (Polar Satellite Launch Vehicle) rocket from the Satish Dhawan Space Centre in Sriharikota at 11:50 AM IST today.
The Aditya-L1 spacecraft successfully separated from the PSLV-C57 rocket.

India’s Polar Satellite Launch Vehicle-C57 (PSLV-C57) lifted off with the country’s #AdityaL1 spacecraft to study the Sun, on Saturday morning.

The payload covering the ISRO's Aditya L1 spacecraft has been separated as it leaves Earth's atmosphere. Currently, the third stage is separated as per ISRO.
The third stage of the separation of PSLV-C57 has been completed.

After the launch of Aditya-L1, people gathered at Satish Dhawan Space Centre, Sriharikota say "We have come from Mumbai to witness this. It was an unforgettable moment for us. This (Aditya-L1) is going to be marvellous. It is a wonderful feeling that we are giving competition to space agencies like NASA and others. We are really excited."

The fourth stage has ignited on PSLV-C57 carrying the Aditya L1 mission. The telemetry has been acquired and the spacecraft is performing normally.

Principal Scientist of Aditya-L1 mission Dr. Sankarasubramanian K on the mission, "Both solar heliophysics and astronomy thrive on data. The sun is our own star and understanding it is much more important for our everyday life... So the seven payloads that were conceived for this mission will provide a unique set of data which is currently not available from any other missions," he says.

On the successful launch of Aditya L-1, Project Director of Aditya L-1, Nigar Shaji says, "This is like a dream come true. I am extremely happy that Aditya L-1 has been injected by PSLV. Aditya L-1 has started its 125 days of long journey. Once Aditya L-1 is commissioned, it will be an asset to the country and the global scientific fraternity. I want to thank the entire team for their support and guidance in making this mission possible."
