Youth held for performing bike stunts in front of Stalin's convoy

CHENNAI: A youth who allegedly did stunts on his two-wheeler in an inebriated state off Kamarajar Salai when Chief Minister MK Stalin’s convoy passed through was arrested by the city police.

The arrested person was identified as Sujay (20) of Royapettah.

Police said that there was a nine-year-old boy, who was riding pillion with him.

Policemen on guard duty along Kamarajar Salai noticed the youth performing bike stunts and riding rashly intercepted him as he was violating traffic norms. He also verbally abused a police sub inspector who apprehended him.

He tried to escape, but was caught near war memorial. Police booked him for rash and negligent driving, criminal intimidation among others. He was produced before a magistrate and remanded in judicial custody.
