The deceased, identified as S Seetha of Tiruverkadu, was into the share marketing business.

Seetha had rented the house at Rajiv Nagar, Nerkundram, five months ago, claiming she has shifted from Bengaluru for work and stayed with a man, whom she introduced as her husband to the neighbours.

While she was last seen on Thursday, the neighbours felt a foul smell emanating from the house on Saturday evening and alerted the police. They rushed to the spot and broke open the house only to find the decomposed body of Seetha hanging from the ceiling.

Her body was removed and sent to Kilpauk Medical College Hospital for post-mortem. Since her body was in a bloated state, police could not make out whether she sustained any physical injury.

Neighbours told the police that they saw her ‘husband’ leaving the house on Saturday morning. While the police have registered a case of suspicious death and launched a hunt for her so-called husband, the post-mortem report is awaited to ascertain whether it was a suicide or otherwise. Furtherinvestigation is on.
