The deceased was identified as P Vasanthi (36), P Divya Barathi (12) and P Kavi Shree (10) of Veranakunam village in Maduranthagam. The police said that Vasanthi’s husband Parthasarathi, who is addicted to alcohol, used to beat her up every day. On Tuesday night, he fought with Vasanthi and attacked her. Vasanthi along with her two daughters left the house. The police said Parthasarathi thought she would return in a while. But when they did not return, Parthasarathi began a search for them.
On Wednesday, the villagers noticed three bodies floating inside the well in a farmland and they were identified. On information, the Maduranthagam police retrieved the body and sent it for post-mortem examination to a government hospital. The police have registered a case and are inquiring Parthasarathi.
