Woman cop attacked for asking man to get off ladies coach

On seeing a man boarding the ladies coach, the RPF constable Asirva had asked him to deboard. Taking her by surprise, he slashed her with a knife and fled the place.

CHENNAI: A woman constable with Railway Protection Force (RPF) was allegedly attacked with a knife by an unidentified man after she asked him to get off the ladies coach in Chennai suburban train on Tuesday night.

Railway Police have registered a case and have launched a hunt for the assailant.

Police sources said that the incident happened around 8.45 pm. The RPF constable, Asirva and another constable were on escort duty on the Beach-Chengelpattu electric train.

On seeing a man boarding the ladies coach, the RPF constable Asirva had asked him to deboard. Taking her by surprise, he slashed her with a knife and fled the place.

The constable was moved to the government hospital nearby and is being treated for her injuries.
