Woman chases snatchers in auto, nabs one with others’ help

A 28-year-old woman chased a bike-borne duo who relieved her of phone in Ashok Nagar in an autorickshaw for about a kilometre and secured one of them.

Geethapriya of Jafferkhanpet, an ME graduate who works in a private firm in Kancheepuram, was waiting for her office bus on 11th Avenue of Ashok Nagar when the duo snatched her phone and sped away. She then boarded an autorickshaw and near KK Nagar government hospital, managed to secure the biker with others’ help, though the pillion rider escaped with phone. Based on his inputs, Kumaran Nagar police nabbed the other offender and retrieved the phone. Both the accused are juveniles.
