At the awards ceremony Noor’s guru and Academy Award winning music director AR Rahman said, “I myself had been thinking of composing music for Kaviko’s poems, but Taj has beaten me to it. However, I am very happy he has done so,” said Rahman, much to Noor’s delight. Having been a ‘student’ of Rahman for over 15 years, Taj Noor felt nothing comes close to praise from one’s own teacher and mentor. Apart from composing music for films, Taj Noor is known for his contribution in raising awareness among school children on relevant social issue,  through his musical compositions, many of which are distributed, freely, among school children across Tamil Nadu. He is also busy in Kollywood, composing music for films like Naiyya Pudai, Vengayam, Gandhari, Nedumba, Bommi Veeran and more.
