Vitamin-A camps for kids to be held till September 4

The Greater Chennai Corporation announced that camps for the oral administering of vitamin-A to children below five years of age will be conducted till September 4.

A Chennai Corporation statement said that vitamin-A camps were held in the city on Monday and the camps would be held till August 28, except Wednesday, at urban primary health centres and Corporation maternity hospitals. Vitamin-A will be administered to the children between six months and five years of age.

“The camps will be conducted between 8 am to 3 pm. The second phase of the camps will be conducted between August 31 and September 4, except Wednesday. Also, the camps will be conducted on August 29 and September 5 to cover missed out children,” the release said.

Children should be given Vitamin-A once in every six months and the civic body is conducting camps twice a year.

“COVID-19 prevention measures will be followed at the camps and visitors’ temperature will be monitored using thermal scanners,” the release said.
