Vijay Makkal Iyakkam functionaries huddle at Panaiyur ahead of LS polls

Vijay is holding meeting with party office-bearers from Chennai, Coimbatore, Tiruchy, Madurai and Tirunelveli districts since morning. The organisation's general secretary Bussy Anand too is present in the discussion.

CHENNAI: Actor and aspiring politician Vijay, on Thursday discussed the next course of action of Thalapathy Vijay Makkal Iyakkam (TVMI) with its functionaries in the city.

According to the TVMI functionaries who took part in the discussion with the actor, they recieved an urgent call on Wednesday.

"We received an urgent call on Wednesday about the meeting which is scheduled for today (Thursday). The actor asked the functionaries to strengthen the Iyakkam at block levels and work on to form the booth committee to face the upcoming elections. He also asked the functionaries to inform the state leadership if they face obstacles in the welfare works initiated by the Iyakkam. He also sought ideas on strengthening the Iyakkam and transforming it into a political party."

Further, the functionaries on the condition of anonymity said the actor is working in full swing of launching his political entry at any time soon.

"He (Vijay) is working in full swing to launch his political entry. While a team of two IAS officers are camping in the National Capital to register the party's name and symbol with the Election Commission of India, TVMI general secretary Bussy N Anand is overseeing the other organisational works in the state. After registering a party, Vijay may come up with election ideas, " informed the insiders.

Over 150 functionaries were present at the discussion at Vijay's Panaiyur office.
