Vijay Antony’s daughter dies by suicide

CHENNAI: Tamil actor and music director Vijay Antony's teenage daughter died by suicide at the family's Alwarpet residence during the early hours of Tuesday.

The 17-year-old, Meera, was studying class 12 at a private school in the city.

She was found unconscious in her room by the family members and was rushed to a private hospital nearby where she was declared as brought dead, police sources said.

On information, Teynampet police secured the body and sent it to a government hospital for post-mortem.

A case has been registered, and further investigations are on with the family members to ascertain the reason for the youngster taking the fatal step.

Vijay Antony, who started his career as a music director eventually forayed into acting and has also recently turned a director.

Recently, Vijay Antony himself had survived a grievous accident while shooting a stunt sequence involving a water scooter in Malaysia.
