Vigour, enthusiasm marks Bengal Association’s Durga Pooja in city

The Bengal Association in T Nagar, renowned for its exuberant festivities, initiated the celebrations on October 15.

CHENNAI: As the much-anticipated festive season of Durga Pooja approached, Bengali communities across the country were geared up for vibrant celebrations, and Chennai’s Bengali associations were no exception.

They were dedicated to preserving the essence of this grand festival, which spanned nine days and featured elaborately adorned pandals with magnificent Durga idols, embodying the spirit of the occasion.

The Bengal Association in T Nagar, renowned for its exuberant festivities, initiated the celebrations on October 15. The week-long festivities included cultural programmes and pushpanjali rituals. Ravi Shankar Roy, a former executive committee member of The Bengal Association, shared, “The past week has been truly magnificent. We’ve witnessed the presence of devotees from various cultures, all coming together to partake in the festivities.

On October 23, we had a special performance by renowned singer Raghav Chatterjee at the pandal, along with other traditional rituals. Our food stalls this year offered a diverse array of delicious Bengali delicacies.”
