2 men held for chain snatching at Koyambedu terminus

At noon, two unidentified men on a two-wheeler approached her, snatched one sovereign gold chain she was wearing, and sped away.

CHENNAI: The CMBT police have arrested two men for chain-snatching at the Koyambedu bus terminus on Thursday.

The victim, Arthi (20), a college graduate from Sirkazhi in Mayiladuthurai district, was waiting with her family near the bus stand gate.

At noon, two unidentified men on a two-wheeler approached her, snatched one sovereign gold chain she was wearing, and sped away.

After a complaint, the police arrested Mohammed Jaaber (27) from Villivakkam and Vivek (32) from Padi, recovered the gold chain and seized a two-wheeler and a mobile phone.

The probe revealed that Mohammed Jaaber is a history-sheeter with 14 prior criminal cases, and Vivek also has two criminal cases.
