CHENNAI: Avadi City Police on Friday arrested television actor, Arunav alias Naina Mohammed based on a complaint by his estranged wife, Divya Sridhar who alleged domestic abuse.
In filmy style, Avadi police arrested Arunav while he was shooting for a television show in RV Garden shooting house in Koothambakkam after he did not appear for the summons issued to him.
Divya Sridhar (35) is also a television actor and the two of them got married and were staying at an apartment in Tiruverkadu.
The woman, who is pregnant filed a complaint with the Avadi city police on October 6 stating that her husband assaulted her after which SRMC AWPS (All Women’s Police Station) registered a case against Arunav. Divya is undergoing treatment at a hospital.
Both of them exchanged tirades against each other through media and social media. Meanwhile, Arunav was dodging the police summons for enquiry by claiming to be under treatment at a hospital, police sources said.
On Friday, police arrested the TV actor. He was produced before a magistrate and remanded to judicial custody.
