Treat PUBG Madan in hospital when need arises, HC tells police

The Madras High Court on Tuesday directed the state police and prison authorities to provide proper medical treatment to controversial YouTuber Madankumar Manickam, also known as PUBG Madan, who was arrested on charges of live streaming obscene content on his YouTube channel.

CHENNAI: The Madras High Court on Tuesday directed the state police and prison authorities to provide proper medical treatment to controversial YouTuber Madankumar Manickam, also known as PUBG Madan, who was arrested on charges of live streaming obscene content on his YouTube channel. A division bench of Justice PN Prakash and Justice AA Nakkiran passed the direction on hearing Madan’s habeas corpus petition. His counsel, S Conscious Ilango, said, “Madan needs to be treated in a hospital for several ailments. But the police are not admitting him.” The judges replied that the police shall admit Madan to a hospital if required. The matter was adjourned for April 25.
