CHENNAI: The department of Hindu Religious and Charitable Endowments (HR & CE) on Thursday retrieved Triplicane Parthasarathy Swamy temple property worth Rs 6 crore in the city.

The department retrieved shops and a residential complex, spread over 3,424 sq ft worth RS 6 crore, at Dr Natesan Saalai.

The occupants, who did not pay rent for the property for long period, have been evicted and sealed by the authorities

The department initiated the proceeding as per the direction of the Madras High Court, according to a statement from the department.
