Minor, 2 youth create ruckus at Hindu College railway station in Chennai; held

CHENNAI: The Government Railway Police on Tuesday arrested three youths, including a 14-year-old boy, for creating a ruckus by harassing and attacking passengers waiting at the Hindu College railway station platform near Avadi. A search is on for another suspect.

Police sources said that the incident happened on Monday. A video clip shows three youths walking on the platform and attacking passengers by swinging plastic pipes at them in a dangerous manner.

Tension ensued as two youths and a teen went on an attacking spree at the railway station. Paramasivam, a Tangedco staff member, was taken by surprise when one of the youths attacked him with a plastic pipe. The man who was sitting on the platform bench suffered injuries and bled profusely following the attack. He filed a complaint with the railway police.

The police traced the youths and arrested Subash (20), Ibrahim (23), and a 14-year-old boy, from Pattabiram. Police suspect the boys to be intoxicated while creating the ruckus. Subash and Ibrahim were produced before a magistrate and remanded in judicial custody while the juvenile was sent to a government observation home for boys.
