The couple living in Tiruvanmiyur had domestic quarrels over Iswar pledging Jayashree’s property documents for loans.Police said that during one such argument, the matter escalated and Iswar allegedly assaulted his wife. She was then admitted to a private hospital in Adyar and on her return from hospital, Jayashree filed a complaint with the Adyar all-women’s police station. After investigations, the police booked Iswar under Section 4 of the Tamil Nadu Prohibition of Women Harassment (TNPHW) Act and arrested him on Sunday. The police are also interrogating his mother.
