CHENNAI: Metro rail services on the Chennai Central–Koyambedu–Airport stretch were disrupted on December 30 (Tuesday) morning due to a technical snag, according to Chennai Metro Rail Limited (CMRL).

The CMRL said that direct train services between Puratchi Thalaivar Dr MGR Central and the Airport on the Green Line (via Anna Nagar and Koyambedu) have been temporarily suspended until further notice.

Passengers travelling to the Airport on the Green Line (via Anna Nagar and Koyambedu) have been advised to interchange at Arignar Anna Alandur Metro Station and continue their journey using Blue Line Airport services. Those travelling from the Green Line to the Blue Line also have been asked to change trains at Alandur.

Apart from the inter-corridor service disruption, both the Green Line (Puratchi Thalaivar Dr MGR Central–St Thomas Mount) and the Blue Line (WIMCO Nagar–Airport) are operating normally as per the weekday schedule, CMRL clarified.

The metro operator said its technical teams are working to rectify the issue and that further updates will be shared shortly.
