Winner: Tamilarasan K (AIADMK)

Runner-up: Moorthy P (DMK)

Margin: 28,755 votes

N Sankaraiah and Nanmaran of CPM were twice elected as MLAs from here. Winning parties: AIADMK (2011), CPM (2006), CPM (2001), DMK (1996) and ADK (1991, 1989 and 1984).

190. Sholavandan (SC) 

Total No of voters: 1,74,634

Votes polled: 1,44,348

Polling percentage: 82.70% 

Winner: Karuppiah MV (AIADMK)

Runner-up: Ilanseliyan M (PMK)

Margin: 36,608 votes

Four women candidates were in fray from here in 2011. Winning parties: AIADMK (2011), DMK (2006), ADMK (2001), DMK (1996), ADK (1991) and DMK (1989).

191. Madurai North 

Total no of voters: 1,95,659

Votes polled: 1,42,571

Polling percentage: 73.19% 

Winner: Bose AK (AIADMK)

Runner-up: Rajendran KSK (INC)

Margin: 46,400 votes

Parts of Madurai South Taluk, Madurai North Taluk parts and Melamadai (CT) were clubbed together to form this constituency. Winning party: AIADMK (2011).

192. Madurai South 

Total No of voters: 1,78,736 

Votes polled: 1,35,472

Polling percentage: 75.80% 

Winner: Annadurai R (CPM)

Runner-up: Varadharajan SP (INC)

Margin: 45,451 votes

Madurai South, which has many historical landmarks, was formed in 2008 after delimitation with parts of Madurai East constituency Winning party: CPM (2011).

Votes polled: 1,44,151

Polling percentage: 74.82% 

Winner: Sundarrajan R (DMDK)
