Tamil Nadu: ED questions Tasmac MD on Day 2 in Rs 1000 cr money laundering case

CHENNAI: The Enforcement Directorate on Saturday brought Tasmac MD S Visakan to the ED office for questioning after being released last night, according to a report by Thanthi TV.

A Maalaimalar report said, officials are conducting a search at Tasmac MD’s house for the second consecutive day.

Visakan, an IAS officer, was questioned for hours at his Manapakkam residence on Friday.

Later, he and his wife were taken to the ED office in Nungambakkam for further questioning.

About 10 locations linked to Tasmac officials and agents – including Visakan's Manapakkam residence and premises linked to film producer Akash Baskaran of Dawn Pictures, a tech firm awarded government contracts and others – were searched in Chennai under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA).
