Seven held for flesh trade in Koyambedu; 5 women saved

CHENNAI: Koyambedu police busted a flesh trade racket in their jurisdiction by arresting seven men and rescuing five women from their custody. Based on a tip-off, police raided a guest house at Chinmaya Nagar on Saturday night and confirmed that the premise was being used for illegal activities. Seven men, who were in the house and identified as N Srinivasan (60) of Chidambaram, S Bharath Kumar (37) of Villivakkam, A Rajkumar (30) of Ramanathapuram, S Suraji (37) of Chinmaya Nagar, K Ilavarasan (28) of Salem, D Tirupathi (28) of Villivakkam and V Ambrish (24) of Nanganallur, were arrested. Five women who hail from different parts of the city were rescued from the house and sent to the government home for rehabilitation. The arrested were remanded in judicial custody.
