Police nabbed him after extracting surveillance camera footage from the scene where the incident happened. The victim had posted her traumatic experience on Instagram besides lodging an online complaint.

The victim, a 23-year-old woman — a scuba diving instructor — had taken the harassment she faced from hands of a bike rider very seriously and even before the police swung into action, had collected video footages from the locality.

Police said that the suspect Adam Ali, a resident of Ramapuram, was working with a finance company. To confirm the identity, the police had shown the suspect to the complainant, through a video call.

The victim, immediately, took to Instagram to thank the Chennai police. “So thank you Chennai police, for taking this seriously, when so many would not have, and showing me that our police can be relied upon (sic),” she said.
