CHENNAI: Chennai Police Commissioner Shankar Jiwal visited the home of college student Sathya, who was killed after being pushed in front of a moving train at Chennai St. Thomas Mount railway station, this morning to console the bereaving family and to probe the case.
Manickam and Ramalakshmi have three daughters, the first being Sathya, followed by a class 10 studying girl and a 3-year-old.
Ramalakshmi was ill (blood cancer) and was on medical leave. She was in for a shock to be faced with this tragic incident shortly after returning to work.
Ramalakshmi's husband Manickam, who worked as a car driver in a private firm, died in the late hours of Thursday. With reports of heart attack and suicide surfacing, a senior officer spoke to DT Next saying the post mortem report will throw light on the cause of Manickam's death.
