Piyush Goyal inaugurates stalls on Central govt scheme in Chennai

CHENNAI: Union minister of commerce and industry and textile Piyush Goyal on Sunday inaugurated stalls of the union government schemes as part of the public outreach at Madipakkam bus stand.

The programme was organised by the BJP Tamil Nadu unit to popuralise the Central government schemes and reach out to the beneficiaries and public. It was aimed at converting the beneficiaries of the schemes into a vote bank for the party, according to party leaders.

State BJP president K Annamalai and several senior leaders of the party accompanied minister Goyal. Similarly, union minister for women and child development Smriti Irani would be participating in various programmes in Coimbatore district on Sunday.

Goyal, later in the day, would participate in a programme in IIT Madras and interact with the students. Following this, he participated in a panel discussion on ‘Emerging trends in compliance landscape’ at ICAI southern regional office.
